Happy Weekend!

I've been stitching and decorating for the 4th .. I love the 4th of July .. the colors, family and friends, the sounds (yep I love fireworks!!), the food and a nice long weekend .. what's not to like *smile*

Thanks to Staci .. she posted this awesome freebie last week and I just had to get home and stitch it .. I just love how it turned out! And DH liked it too :)

Stitched on 32ct Mocha (Silkweavers) with WDS Americana, GAST School House Red and DMC B5200. I found this frame in my stash .. I'm sure I bought it for a particular pattern, but I can't remember which one .. but I do think it's perfect for this heart .. what do you think?

Here's a little of my decorating .. our mantle in the family room. And the new picture on my blog header is a basket of 4th of July pillows sitting on my kitchen table.

BTW if you haven't been checking out Staci's blog lately .. quick go there .. she's been stitching 4th of July designs like a mad woman .. they are all to die for! When I grow up I want to be Staci *smile*

I'm off to watch the Nascar race and stitch. I'm working on an old Bent Creek Patriotic Cracker .. love the colors :) Thank you all for your comments .. I really love reading them! And Chip's doing better these days. His stitches are out and if he can keep from licking his paw we can keep the cone off him .. my walls will be soooo thankful! lol

Have a wonderful Sunday and I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for patriotic stitching ...

May I introduce to you .. Bella

I've been calling this coffee angel Bella after my favoriate Starbucks coffee, Bella Vista. This is my progress as of Wednesday night .. I'm really enjoying this design .. I wonder if it's because the fabric still smells strongly of coffee??!! lol

The two wips I have been working on a lot lately are mostly letters, which get a bit boring, so I thought I'd pull out another wip to work on for awhile .. lol .. more letters! but another design that I just love!

Last week our chocolate lab Chip cut one of his back paws pretty bad .. a few hours at the all night vet hospital, a few stitches and a drain and we got to bring him home. He's really doing ok, but you wouldn't know if from this picture .. he looks kinda pathetic doesn't he! The head cone is because he won't stop chewing off his bandage ... in fact today, with the head cone on, he still managed to do a good amount of chewing before my DH noticed. Gotta love dogs!

Have you see this new design from Homespun Elegance? Way too cute!

Thank you all for your lovely comments about our 34th wedding anniversary.
It's almost Friday! woo hoo! This weekend is busy with a bbq at my Dad's for 3 birthdays, 2 anniversarys and Father's Day .. then it's brunch with my father-in-law on Sunday. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for coffee ...

Terry and I are celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary today, June 14th. How young we were ...
and 34 years later ..

For all the ups and downs over the years ... he still has my heart ...

Happy Anniversary Terry ... I love you

I hope your weekend has been great! We celebrated our anniversary with Ken and Lisa on Saturday night, dinner and a movie, then back home for hot tubbing .. it was very funny. Today we are having a quite day .. Terry left to go get us lattes and then going to watch the Nascar race. The weather is cooler here today .. a nice day to just kick back and relax and of course doing a little stitching too *smile*

I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for 34 years ...

Weekend and Wips ...

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was busy and productive and still had some time for stitching *smile* Friday night I went to dinner with 3 girlfriends and then back to Pat's house for dominos. Saturday was full of housework for me, DH worked on the deck, he's been rebuilding it and it's almost done! woo hoo :) Saturday night we rented Frost/Nixon. Have you seen it? It was much better than I expected. Frank Langella was incredible as Nixon .. the movie made me want to find the real interview and watch it. Sadly I don't remember seeing them when they were originally on. We definately have had some interesting years in US politics haven't we. Sunday was spent watching nascar, laundry and stitching.

I started another new project, one I bought when I was in Arizona last April. I'm really enjoying this piece. It is called Why Is It? by The Cross-Eyed Cricket. I don't remember the name of the fabric, but it's lovely to stitch on. I'm doing with 2 strands of Belle Soie over 2. I changed the colors from the original .. all the words are in Mahogany and the flowers/leaves will be in Butterscotch, Fern Frond and another color I've misplaced lol. Here's what I've done so far ...

and here's Coffin Buzz that I started last week. I'm stitching this 1 strand over 1 on coffee dyed fabric, that I think is 32 count ... I love how this is stitching up ... isn't the angel adorable .. just a sweet face :)

I've had a few stitchers interested in the Sisters of the Thread sampler ... either participating in an RR with me or stitching on mine for me. I'm really leaning towards starting an RR ... maybe in September. I'm going to order the chart and go from there ... more soon :)
Enjoy your week and I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for starts ...

Woo Hoo It's Friday!!!

and a whole lot cooler here in Washington. We had record breaking temperatures this week .. hit 99 in my town yesterday! We hardly every have high 90 weather here, especially in June, which is typically a very wet month. Finally cooling off today and through the weekend to a nice pleasant 75ish .. now hopefully my house will start to cool down .. we don't have central air :(

I don't have any stitching pictures to share, but I have been stitching. Have the Christmas ornaments I was behind with all stitched and ready to finish this weekend. Last night while watching the new season of Burn Notice and Royal Pains I started Coffin Buzz, a freebie by Plum Street Samplers. I'm stitching it on come coffee dyed (by me *smile*) evenweave with Belle Soie's Cinnamon Stick .. I'll post a picture over the weekend.

Have you seen this new design by The Primitive Needle called Sampler Sisters of the Thread? OMGosh I love it! Wouldn't it be a fun RR .. I could see stitching the top portion and then sending it off stitching friends to stitch the little motifs and the bottom and maybe switch up the "This work is mine" to say "This work is ours" and then everyone could sign it .. could be lots of fun!

Hope June is starting out to be a good month for everyone! Thank you all for your lovely comments about my recent finishes, I really enjoy hearing from everyone :)

I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for cooler, but sunny days ...
