Jumping on the bandwagon ...

Yep I went and did it .. I started Blackbird Designs new freebie. I know you know which one I'm talking ... seems like every other blogger out there has either started it or just finished it .. and I didn't want to be left out! lol I've decided that I'm going to stitch two of them, in memory of both my mother and my mother-in-law. My mom's been gone 11 years and my mil 4 years. I miss them both so much ... I really like the idea of stitching one for them. So, I started with my mil's first, the fabric and thread just jumped out at me. I'm using Belle Soie Herb Garden, green was her favorite color and a piece of 36ct Edinburgh Sand ... here's what I did this evening ...

Any plans for the weekend? I can't believe it's the last weekend in April! Hope we have a little sunshine this weekend .. my yard really needs some tender loving care!

Thank you for all your comments .. I really enjoy reading them .. you make me smile and laugh .. and that's a really nice thing *smile*

I hope you find your joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for memories ...

LOL! I got sucked in as well after seeing Vonna's finished sampler. I downloaded the chart to start it tomorrow. :)

I plan to do this one in memory of my maternal grandmother. But I won't even get started until after the contest is over. Your first is beautiful!

We are have a birthday weekend for DS who turns 3 on Monday. He's going to Six flags with Daddy on Saturday and getting ready for a small family party Monday evening.

Your BBD freebie looks gorgeous so far!!! I think you have pushed me over the edge into doing this one. I want to do it with my Grandmothers names on it. I think your will be wonderful with your Mom and Mother-in-Law names on it. What color thread will you use for your Mom's?

Love the color! I just started it too but haven't decided what I am going to do for the name. Can't wait to see it finished.

Beautiful color.. I am a huge fan of green. I would have done mine in green but nothing was calling out to me.. Thats a great idea to stitch one for Mom and MIL... I am doing ours as a sort of wedding sampler for DH and I...Thinking about another one once I am over my other obligations.

Work is on the agenda this weekend for me.. Take Care

OMG...you, too, huh? It is calling my name, but I try to turn a deaf ear to it as my stitching plate continues to be added to. It really is a fun pattern and I love the way everyone seems to be using it as a memory of loved ones. With the loss of my paternal grandmother and my maternal grandfather over the last 6 months...it would be a very nice tribute. MMMMM...I might have a trip to my closet stash box coming.
In the meantime...have a good weekend!

Nice start going there. I am one of the stitchers who resisted this - I printed it off then decided I had other projects I wanted to work on instead. It is hard to resist though!

Is this design online somewhere? I haven't heard about it and can't find it on any searches. It sounds like something I would like to stitch in memory of my Mom (lost 12 years ago) and my sister (lost 16 years ago).

I love the idea of dedicating this sampler to your mother and mother in law. Gorgeous color silk, too. :)
