We found the perfect way to spend the first day of October ... pumpkin farming :) Chris, Monica, Terry and I spent the day at 3 different pumpkin farms and had a great time. The first farm we stopped at was Bailey's ...
There were pumpkins everywhere ...
and lots of you pick veggies ... I got three huge zucchini's ... I think there's a few loaves of zucchini bread in my future ...
We picked some corn ... been years since I've had fresh right off the stalk corn ... can't wait to taste it ... and look what I found hiding in the corn lol
The property across the street was were the corn was ... loved this red barn and the pumpkin fence ...Here's just a few of the pumpkins we got ... we also got a few gourds and a few small pumpkins too ...
Here's my family ...
Our next stop was The Farm at Swan's Trail ... they had this happy scarecrow in one of the pumpkin fields ...
Along with pumpkin patches they also had this wonderful garden ...
I fell in love with this old wagon ... wouldn't it look great filled with all the pumpkins we got?
very pretty unique bridge ...
and the bridge was a perfect place for another picture of Chris and Monica ...
Here's pictures from their flower garden ... lovely dahlias and so many different kinds ...
The third stop was Bob's Corn and Pumpkin Farm ... I didn't take many pictures here but it was a lovely place too ... our favorite things here were roasted corn ... soooo yummy! and lots of homemade goodies ... we bought some Black Bean and Corn Salsa and some Blackberry Butter. Can't wait to try them. It really was a great way to usher in the changing of the season ... I LOVE FALL.Thank you for all your lovely comments on my stitching from my last post. I really enjoyed reading them all ... tomorrow is finishing day ... wish me luck!
I hope you find your Joy in your stitches ...
I'm grateful for fall ...
