First step ... take apart the silk tie. We went to Goodwill for the ties. then you wrap them ...
our little bundles of color ...
then you cover them with old white pillow cases cut up and tie them again ...
into the pot with water and a little vinegar and boil for 20 miutes ...
let cool, untie them and here's what you get ...

That is because they have such great parents that know that life should be as fun as you can make it!
Love the tie dying with the old ties!! Will definitely have to try that next year in my classroom!!! I love the fact that your children still value "fun" Easter traditions!!! Keep up the great work momma: Faye
Looks like a lot of fun Michele!
The eggs look great! I saw this way of dyeing them the other day and I'm sure to be on the lookout for some funky silk ties in my travels for next year. Looks like fun was had by all! :^)
Looks like everyone had great fun!
Happy Stitching!
Super cool! Looks like fun. :)
What a lovely effect you get with the tie dyeing. I'm hoping that my kids all want to get back to doing crafty things when they get older. At the moment the boys are more interested in sport. At least when they have kids they will have the skills.
