Love my poopy bird ...

Heart in Hand has always been one of my favorite designers. When I saw the Tall Birds series for the first time I was hooked and over the years I have managed to stitch them all ... well almost all of them. When my local LNS was closing I purchased two shop models, Spring Bird and Winter Bird ... couldn't beat the price, $15 for each, framed. After Spring and Winter, Autumn was the only one I hadn't stitched, so last week I found the chart, pulled the threads and finished him last week. A few years ago I was at a retreat and some stitchers were talking about how they didn't like the Tall Birds cause they looked like they were pooping out the motifs ... I thought this was hysterical ... that's why I affectionally called them poopy bird ...

Sunday, while watching the Seahawks beat San Diego, I stitched this Halloween ornament. I don't know why put this pumpkin face makes me smile ...

There's a couple more Halloween designs I would like to stitch from this years Halloween JSC ornament issue ... not sure I'll get them one this year, but we can always dream, can't we *smile*

On Sunday I also started some finishing, but ran out of bamboo fiber fill that I like to use for little pillows ... I had enough to finish off this little Boo pillow ...

I also spend some time decorating the house for Fall/Halloween ... I really do love this time of year. The weather is finally starting to feel like Fall ... crisp mornings, turning into sunny and 70's. I had been spending most of the day in my reclinder, stitching the afternoon away. I got up to take a few pictures of my mantle decorations ... turned around and found this guy sitting in MY seat! Subie had been laying on the blanket next to me ... guess he decided I had been sitting too long or what? I had to take a picture ... love the attitude!

Thanks for visiting and leaving your comments ... you guys make me smile and laugh!

I hope you find your Joy in your stitches ...

I'm grateful for fall ...

I love the 'Heart in Hand' birds too. The buttons that go with the chart are adorable.
I can't wait to stitch that pumpkin face from this year's JCS Halloween issue, it's one of my favourite ever Halloween ornaments, so simple yet so effective!

Yes, the sheepish grin of the pumpkin makes me smile too! So cute.
Your "poopy bird" story cracks me up!

I definetely need a recliner!
Now do they come with the cat or is that extra?

Put me in the pooping camp. When I stitched these for a RR, I chose the Autumn bird because it seemed the least poopy.

(And also...PUMPKINS!)

So I do love it.

Beautiful stitching and finishing Michele. LOL at the poopy birds :-)
My cat Travis does the same. Whenever my butt leaves the stitching spot for 30 seconds or more he is straight in there getting cozy :-)

I'm laughing at the poopy bird thing. I never really thought that, but I do think that they're cute! Love the pumpkin face too. I was just looking at that design yesterday thinking it would be fast and fun to stitch up!

Love your finishes! Your cat looks like he is right at home. He is probably thinking that he allowed you to sit in "his" chair long enough, it was his turn now.

Thanks for sharing

I really like the Autumn bird by heart in hand. I didn't think of the bird popping until you said that. :-)
